The Halásztanya is located near some fishing ponds 4 kilometres from Győr in Nagybajcs, which used to be a fishing settlement in the early Middle Ages.

The river Danube, which flows underneath the gardens provides a possibility for you to get to know the typical Danubian fauna and flora. Fishing provides means of subsistence for the local people, while angling is a kind of relaxation and sport for them. Even today this place is a fishing village and a paradise for anglers. This fact played an important role in creating the atmosphere of the place, the restaurant and the surroundings.
